SAVE A BUCK CAMPAIGN TAKES TO THE ROAD
The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF) is taking their "Slow Down and Save a
Buck" educational awareness campaign on the road with the help of the Saskatchewan
Transportation Company (STC).
"It is with the greatest pleasure that I am announcing the addition of our newest
partner in the "Save a Buck" campaign," said Darrell Crabbe, SWF Executive Director.
"Along with our major sponsor, Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), the addition
of STC brings an added dimension to our campaign. STC's involvement will include
motor coach side panels and a trailer wrap with our "Slow Down and Save a Buck"
message and graphics."
"It's a rolling billboard if you will."
As in past years, the "Slow Down and Save a Buck" campaign will use highway billboards,
radio and television public service announcements, and placemats provided to select
restaurants and used at special events hosted by the SWF across the province to
raise awareness.
According to SGI, over 10,600 collisions with deer took place on Saskatchewan highways
last year. SGI paid out in excess of $34 million in damage claims. Two people were
killed and over 300 people were injured.
