Youth ride the bus for just $40/month this summer

For the months of June, July, and August, youth in Saskatchewan can ride with the Saskatchewan Transportation Company for only $40 per month.

With the purchase of their monthly summer pass, youth ages 12 – 25 will receive unlimited riding privileges within STC's network, which reaches 290 communities across Saskatchewan.

"Many young people have the desire to travel during the summer but lack the resources to do so. With this sale, STC is providing an affordable, green, safe, and comfortable way to travel," said Acting President and CEO Shawn Grice.

Riding with STC provides numerous environmental benefits. One STC coach can displace the emissions of up to 55 private vehicles. Transport Canada reports bus travel as having the lowest social cost (air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, noise, road congestions, and accidents) per kilometer than any other form of transportation.

"We want to expose our service to as many people as possible," Grice said. "With this latest sale, young people can sit back, relax and enjoy travelling Saskatchewan at a low cost this summer."

Youth passes are available at any STC agent across the province.
